  Generation teaching - conversation I just had with my dad.

  so, went to the dc 2 days this weekend.

  still have lots of family in and had to put in a cameo for family who had parts on the program and drama.

  i left after the drama today and just spoke with my dad who is inactive and supposedly enlightened about all things jw.

  i keep hearing , "i'm not expecting miracles", or similar statements about obama.

  most people don't believe he is capable of miracles.

  but what exactly is expected of him?

  i realized not too long ago that my hypersensitivity to criticism has vanished.

  i now take correction as it is meant to be given.

  i no longer have a pit in my stomach if i'm wrong about something.

  i never really carried anything on me.

  it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).

  but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

  Handling the negative emotions after leaving - suggestions please

  since leaving a few years ago, i have experienced the gamut of emotions, both good and bad.

  one that seems particularly difficult to manage is the shame and embarrassment i feel for having taking it seriously all my life.

  why wasn't i thinking?

  i was born in 1970 to third generation jehovah's witnesses.

  like all those born in, i was brought up without hope or guidance for a life in this world.

  instead of being taught to be self sufficient and confident, i was trained to obey my parents without question (ephesians 6:1).

  i mean in all fairness, if anyone identifies you on the board it only.
